Top of the Form

An enthusiatic audience of parents, Rotarians and teachers together with year 6 children witnessed a keen contest at this year’s “Top of the From” event organised by the Rotary Club of Walton on Thames and sponsored by Dialog Semiconductors Plc.

Following 10 rounds of challenging questions on different subjects within the curriculum plus sport, spelling and topical sections, Ashley C of E Primary school came out on top after a really absorbing match with St James C of E Primary school.

The winners score of 62 points was exceptional for a very tough set of questions many of which the adult audience had difficulty with!!

The shield (held for 1 year) together with £5 gift vouchers and gold medals were presented to the winners by the Mayor of Elmbridge, councillor Tannia Shipley, together with a £100 voucher for Ashley school to use for educational purposes.

The Mayor went on to present silver medals to the runners up. The Mayor expressed her amazement at the very high standard shown by both teams and congratulated Mrs Sue Wright for a superbly well balanced range of questions prepared for both teams. Her thoughts were echoed by President Reg Mills from the Rotary Club who went on to thank St James school staff for their kind hospitality and organisation, enabling the grand final to take place in excellent surroundings.

Ashley Primary School become the 10th school name to be engraved on the trophy during its 14 years of competition.
